Jasypt & jhipster : path.home is not configured

7/16/2019

I would like to use jasypt encryption in a jhipster project (generated with jhipster 5.7.0, using spring-boot 2.0.6)

But adding the jasypt dependency causes an error on start up.

The project in deployed on kubernetes with prod profile, not any errors on local machine using dev or prod profile.

The dependency :

<dependency>
  <groupId>com.github.ulisesbocchio</groupId>
  <artifactId>jasypt-spring-boot</artifactId>
  <version>2.1.1</version>
</dependency>

The config:

  • SPRING_DATA_JEST_URI :
  • SPRING_DATA_ELASTICSEARCH_PROPERTIES_PATH_HOME : target/elasticsearch

The error :

org.springframework.context.ApplicationContextException: Unable to start web server; nested exception is java.lang.RuntimeException: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'servletEndpointRegistrar' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/actuate/autoconfigure/endpoint/web/ServletEndpointManagementContextConfiguration$WebMvcServletEndpointManagementContextConfiguration.class]: Bean instantiation via factory method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [org.springframework.boot.actuate.endpoint.web.ServletEndpointRegistrar]: Factory method 'servletEndpointRegistrar' threw exception; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'healthEndpoint' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/actuate/autoconfigure/health/HealthEndpointConfiguration.class]: Bean instantiation via factory method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [org.springframework.boot.actuate.health.HealthEndpoint]: Factory method 'healthEndpoint' threw exception; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.UnsatisfiedDependencyException: Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.boot.actuate.autoconfigure.elasticsearch.ElasticsearchHealthIndicatorAutoConfiguration$ElasticsearchJestHealthIndicatorConfiguration': Unsatisfied dependency expressed through constructor parameter 0; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'testClient' defined in class path resource [com/github/vanroy/springboot/autoconfigure/data/jest/ElasticsearchJestAutoConfiguration.class]: Bean instantiation via factory method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [io.searchbox.client.JestClient]: Factory method 'testClient' threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalStateException: path.home is not configured
