Traefik https redirect (via kubernetes deployment)

7/5/2017

I'm running traefik on AWS via kubernetes. It all works, except for my http=>https redirect configuration.

I have the following .toml file

defaultEntryPoints = ["http", "https"]

[entryPoints]
  [entryPoints.http]
  address = ":80"
    [entryPoints.http.redirect]
      entryPoint = "https"

With the Kubernetes Deployment + Service configurations below.

https requests work file, but http requests return:

> curl http://www.myserver.com
curl: (52) Empty reply from server

You want to state your EntryPoints slightly differently:

defaultEntryPoints = ["http","https"]
[entryPoints]
  [entryPoints.http]
  address = ":80"
    [entryPoints.http.redirect]
    regex = "^http://(.*)"
    replacement = "https://$1"
  [entryPoints.https]
  address = ":443"

My traefik.toml config is similar to Corey's but is a little simpler. It works well for a catch-all redirect of http to https.

defaultEntryPoints = ["http","https"]
[entryPoints]
  [entryPoints.http]
  address = ":80"
    [entryPoints.http.redirect]
      entryPoint = "https"
  [entryPoints.https]
  address = ":443"
